(2) 1940 photos of a Gas Station / Cafe . The
proprietor is identified as Art Rossmeissl on both the sign and the building. The
“ Korner Koffee Kup ” Café occupies the left portion of the
building. Of
note is the m odernistic Two-Column Rounded
Canopy that stands above the 3 pumps. A
standing sign board at left reads “ For Fun in ’40 / Travel With STANDARD To
Treasure Island ” (a reference to the Golden
Gate International Exposition in San
Francisco). The
date “ 6-9-40 ”
is written in pen at lower left border of each photo. Location
is not specifically identified, but the photos were processed by Snelson Camera
Shop, Pendleton, Oregon. They are printed on heavy, lightly textured, photo paper. The
photos each measure 3- 1/4 inches x 5 inches ,
including border. (some
images are enlarged to show detail) Both
of these 82 year old original photos are in excellent condition and have
